The Traditional Archery Society – A Global Home for Traditional Archers
The Traditional Archery Society (TAS) is one of the largest and most active international communities dedicated to traditional archery. Since its founding in 2013, TAS has been committed to preserving, developing, and promoting classical bow techniques.
With a growing global community of over 113,000 members, including passionate archers, bowyers, tournament organizers, and craftspeople, TAS offers a space for connection, learning, and excellence in the traditional archery world.
The TAS World Championship 2025
One of the most prestigious highlights of the TAS calendar is its official World Championship, held this year from May 23–25, 2025 in Coshocton, Ohio (USA).
This major event attracts archers of all ages and skill levels. The championship features various traditional bow classes, including longbow, recurve, and selfbow – all under strict traditional equipment and shooting rules.
TAS's World Championship is regarded as one of the most significant global competitions in traditional archery.

Gratitude to the Osburns – World-Class Success with Shrew Bows

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dakota Osburn and his son Brantley Osburn, who competed at this year's TAS World Championship using our Shrew Bows – and made history doing so!
Dakota Osburn won the Gold Medal and the World Champion title in the Men’s Longbow Division, while his son Brantley Osburn took home the Bronze Medal with a strong 3rd place finish in the Boys Cub Division.
Both father and son shot Shrew Bows throughout the tournament weekend – and proved on the international stage just what these bows are capable of:
Smooth and fast.
Precision – thanks to the unique "Natural Pointing Handle" designed by Ron LaClair.
These wins are a testament to the performance, craftsmanship, and instinctive shooting experience that Shrew Bows offer. We are proud to have two such passionate and talented archers represent our legacy.
The Osburns' Words

Shortly after the championship, Dakota Osburn shared his thoughts in a heartfelt post on Facebook:
"Brantley and I spent the weekend at the Traditional Archery Society World Championship in Coshocton. Lots of great shooters and good times spent with great people. I'm super proud of Brantley – he shot with us every round this weekend and finished 3rd in the Boys Cub Division. I managed to put it all together when it counted and came away with the win in the Men’s Longbow Division."
This moment reflects the very spirit of traditional archery: generational, connected, and rooted in skill, passion, and community.
